Our mission and story

Why do we do what we do?

If you are reading this, you already know that a woman's life goes through many cycles, some lasting a few weeks (like menstruation) and others much longer (like a partnership, a job, or motherhood). All these stages are part of the wonderful experience of living, and we should not give up on any of them.

As we grow, we undergo a significant personal transformation, changing physically, mentally, and emotionally. And we become wiser, stronger and more resilient. That's why we believe in welcoming menopause, which, despite being a challenging stage for some women, opens the door to a new way of seeing life.

Now we truly know what we want and are not afraid to ask for it, because we also know our worth and what we are capable of.

Neva was created to accompany women in the best stage of their life, from the first "What the heck is happening to me?" or "I don't know if this is menopause..." until you are sure it is. You should know that there might be a phase where you don't recognize yourself and that it is normal, many things are changing, think of it as a second puberty.

We want to offer you information and content that you can turn into tools to improve your well-being and quality of life. We want you to find that new and improved version of yourself, we want to help you unlock all your potential.

From here, we offer support, understanding, and alternatives for a smoother menopause. We encourage you to fully embrace your entrance into maturity. Well-being during menopause is a new balance between body and mind, some women will adapt sooner to the change, and for others, it might take a bit longer. But like every new challenge or change that has come into your life, this change will also be for the better.

At neva, we share experiences and learn together. We believe in the power of community to inspire, support, and find the positive side in everything. Neva is about transformation and ongoing care. We will provide solutions that work without you having to stop being yourself. Because we understand you, and it's important that you understand yourself too.

When did this start?

We're Helena and Nuria, and we met in the hallways of Amazon, to be exact, on the third floor of the Delicias office in Madrid. What started as a team colleague relationship at work turned into a friendship. Don't get us wrong, that team we worked with was amazing (we're still friends), but during those years, we also experienced an important personal change: we started our families.

Years went by, and we worked on projects, launches, papers, celebrated successes, and learned from what didn't go well regarding our professional careers at the tech giant.

One day, during a coffee break, we talked about postpartum and the hormonal stages women go through, often without the necessary support. From the first menstruation to menopause, the lack of information seemed alarming to us. What we knew at that moment was what we had learned along the way once we were already in it... women usually learn the details of all these stages when they're already experiencing them...

We thought about menopause and how we would like to face it... We lacked role models (outside our families, I mean), so... Why not create a brand that addressed the unique needs of women during menopause and the years leading up to it?

We set out to empower women with knowledge and support. And along the way, to learn about the changes that were going to happen in our bodies, to learn the best way to prepare ourselves so as not to lose health or quality of life in the transition to menopause.

We want to help demystify menopause by providing clear information about the physical and emotional changes, and practical strategies to overcome them. We want women to face this stage of life without fear or taboos. After all, older women are the ones who know the most about life and themselves. Why should we be afraid?

Our goal is to create a community where women can share experiences, seek advice, and find understanding in other women who have gone through or are going through the same thing... and to do it without hiding, without fear, without guilt, and without shame.

We want to change society's perception of menopause and perimenopause and celebrate the strength and resilience of women in this stage of life.
